"Thank you for DogStarNYC, in general. The site speaks to so many kinds of interests; it discerns which qualities will appeal to many different tastes in a tremendous number of activities. I love how it encourages young people to pay attention to the unusual.
In New York we let so many teens walk around the periphery, mildly shell-shocked by life, while the information that they need to make sense of their world sits in the center of the room. DogStarNYC welcomes them into the middle of the room; the blog tells them how to walk there." - Stacy L.

Meet the Presidents Who Live Among Us
DOG STAR went to school with a Michael Jackson and always laughed at him. It wasn't nice, we know, but how could his parents name him for such a popular celebrity? (He was named for his father, not the pop star, and since he was also white, he had the added bonus of being called "White Mike.")
New York Times photographer Patrick Witty has been showcasing area residents who share a name with U.S. presidents.
So far he has featured a George Washington (pictured in this post and in prison!), Abraham Lincoln, Calvin Coolidge and even Ronald Reagan. The hunt is on for a Barack Obama.
The photos are taken with poses that were made famous by the U.S. president. For example, the George Washington in this post stands and poses like the president did in a famous painting.
The profiles are interesting to read, too. People have strange reactions to meeting someone with such a famous name.
