"Thank you for DogStarNYC, in general. The site speaks to so many kinds of interests; it discerns which qualities will appeal to many different tastes in a tremendous number of activities. I love how it encourages young people to pay attention to the unusual.

In New York we let so many teens walk around the periphery, mildly shell-shocked by life, while the information that they need to make sense of their world sits in the center of the room. DogStarNYC welcomes them into the middle of the room; the blog tells them how to walk there." - Stacy L.

FREE! See the whole city close up! Visit Queens Museum of Art

DOG STAR remembers a visit to Flushing meadows Park a few years ago and the great surprise we found in a low building opposite the famous globe (here).

Inside we found an incredible installation on permanent display:   bird’s-eye view of NYC at the Panorama of the City of New York on the main floor.   It's real fun to look for your neighborhood and maybe even find your building.

Duke Riley’s Those About to Die Salute You, which opened last week, is based on a battle held near the museum earlier this year between toga-clad participants in boats fighting with baguettes. That’s just awesome.

New York City Building, 111th St at 49th St, Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, Queens (718-592-9700, queensmuseum.org )

EASY TO REACH:
Via #7 Flushing IRT. Exit Willets Point/Shea Stadium and follow the signs on a ten-minute walk through the park to the museum, which is located next to the Unisphere.

Alternatively, exit at 111th Street Station. Walk south on 111th Street past the New York Hall of Science. Left on 49th Avenue into the Park. Continue past fountain over the Grand Central Parkway bridge. Museum is on right, next to Unisphere.
